The district-wide organization is committed to helping Kaneland special needs children ages 3-21 to become confident and productive adults by identifying and addressing their individual needs. The group works hard to ensure the Kaneland community has the resources to provide a better future for its children.
Sorenson explained that the slogan has been adopted by the organization running the event – the Kaneland Special Needs PTA. On Saturday, Sorenson, the organization’s chairwoman of fundraising, and others were hustling from room to room. The fundraiser, which drew steady crowds, was the first public event by the group, which was launched in the summer.
There will be raffles, a concession stand sponsored by the Kaneland Performing Arts Boosters, child care and awareness tables featuring the Autism Society, HorsePower, Community Therapy Services, Reaching for the Stars and more.
